Tree Work in Duvall

Duvall Tree Service in the Lower Snoqualmie Valley

Duvall’s threshold is higher than most cities’: a significant tree is 10 inches or more in diameter, not 6. Removing one needs a tree removal permit — there’s no fee — and you can remove up to two significant trees in a one-year period, as long as at least two remain.

Duvall sits on west- and north-facing hillsides in the lower Snoqualmie River valley, with the river forming its western city limit and forested slopes near the Cherry Creek valley. Wetlands, streams, landslide hazard areas and their buffers carry their own rules. Our ISA Certified Arborists are based just up the valley in Snoqualmie, and you get a free written estimate before anything is booked.

Know the Rules

Duvall’s Tree Rules in Plain English

From the City of Duvall’s tree removal guidance and DMC 14.40:

✓A tree removal permit — no fee — is required before removing any significant or exceptional tree.
✓Significant trees are 10 inches or more in diameter, except red alder and cottonwood.
✓No more than two significant trees may be removed within a one-year period, with at least two remaining.
✓Replacement runs from one-for-one to three-for-one.
✓A Level 2 TRAQ assessment is required for exceptional trees and trees in native growth protection areas.
✓A tree posing an imminent threat can come down first; contact the city within seven days, with photos.
